Mary Jane Brown Wheelock was born on April 5, 1950, to Betty Jean Cates and Mertin Leroy Brown in Fort Hall, Idaho, where she lived until 1962. Then her family moved to Tyhee.
Mary spent her childhood on the Reservation with her grandparents and enjoyed every minute.
On March 4, 1970, she married Dennis Boyd Wheelock. They were the love of each other’s lives and had four children together.
Mary worked as a nursing assistant in her early days, working her way up to Acting Administrator.
She enjoyed painting ceramics, camping, crocheting, and yardwork, especially taking care of her Shasta Daisy’s.
Mary cared about everyone and spent many days caring for loved ones at the end of their days.
She was of Christian Faith and was with the Salvation Army.
We would like to thank the Fort Hall Tribe, Enhabit Home Health & Hospice, and Life A Care Center for Independent Living.
Mary is survived by three daughters: Debbie Wheelock, Becky Wheelock (Scott Robinson), and Kris (Shawn) Williams; seven grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; and special friend Cory Harris.
She is preceded in death by her sweetheart, Dennis; son Jason; brother Fred; and mother Betty.
