On the evening of March 7, 2026, Alan Bruce Croxall passed into the arms of his Heavenly Father where he was reunited with his loving wife, Edi, who preceded him in death.

Born in Pocatello, Idaho on December 16, 1947, Bruce was the second of five children born to Lynn Horrocks Croxall and Phyllis Jean (Bloom) Croxall. Throughout his childhood, he made many dear friends—friendships he would maintain his entire life. These friendships were so important to Bruce that he would often regale his children with stories of the adventures that he and his friends shared. It was alongside these friends that he graduated from Pocatello High School in 1966. He chose to serve his Savior as a missionary for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and was called to serve in the Buenos Aires, Argentina Mission. His mission to Argentina would become an experience he cherished throughout his life. After returning, Bruce met the love of his life, Edith “Edi” Mari Gibbons, with whom he would share the greatest years of his life and five beautiful children.

On December 20, 1969, Bruce married Edi in the Mesa Arizona LDS temple. They quickly started their family, and, together, they devoted their lives to each other and to their children. In 1973, already with three little boys, Bruce graduated from Brigham Young University and joined the United States Air Force. This career would afford Bruce and his family experiences all around the country and a three-year tour in England. While stationed at McConnell AFB in Wichita, Kansas, Bruce and Edi were blessed with their fourth child—and only girl—in 1975. The fifth and youngest child arrived in 1977 while Bruce was stationed at RAF Alconbury in England. This youngest child was another boy giving Bruce and Edi four boys and one girl for a total of five children all six years of age and under.

For the next 20 years, Bruce and Edi devoted their lives to their children. Bruce possessed a strong testimony of his Savior and together, they taught their children the importance of character, service, and living a Christ-like life. Bruce was very active and loved the outdoors—and more importantly—loved to share the outdoors with his family. Almost every year, Bruce would take his family on an extended camping trip to Wild Horse Creek. There he would teach his children to camp, ride motorcycles, and fish. Oh, how he loved fishing! He loved shooting guns and hunting almost as much as fishing. He was passionate about sports, especially football and basketball, and he shared all of these loves with his children. These things that Bruce loved provided countless experiences that will always be cherished. Bruce and Edi were devout parents who supported their children in all their endeavors. They were especially enthusiastic about sporting events and were always their children’s biggest fans. It didn’t matter the time of day or the distance, they were always in attendance cheering on their kids. In his later years, before being debilitated with health issues, Bruce would go to the temple almost every day. He often shared these experiences with his children. He was proud that his children followed his example in attending the temple themselves.

Bruce always took pride in his family. His children followed his example: they went on missions, graduated from college, and have families who continue to honor Bruce. He would constantly brag to everyone about his children and grandchildren and the many accomplishments they had made.

In 1993, Bruce retired from the Air Force and moved back home to Pocatello. He and Edi enjoyed many years of happiness there. It was during this time, in 2005, that Bruce lost the love of his life, Edi, who was called home to her Heavenly Father. He endured another 20 agonizing years without her.

Bruce was preceded in death by his parents and his loving wife, Edi. He is survived by his children, Alan Bruce Croxall II, William Joseph Croxall (Wendy), David Lynn Croxall, Lisa Mari Moehrke (Robert), and Daniel Lee Croxall as well as 17 grandchildren and three great grandchildren. He is also survived by his siblings, Stephen Croxall, Gary Croxall, Linda Peterson, and Brent Croxall.

Bruce’s life was spent in service. He served his Savior as a missionary, his country in the United States Air Force, and his family as a loving husband and father. He will be forever loved and missed for the service and love he gave to those who were fortunate enough to know him.

We love you Dad. Thank you for everything you’ve done for us. You are a great father. We miss you and look forward to being with you and Mom again!

A funeral service will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, March 21, 2026 at Wilks Colonial Chapel, 2005 S 4th Ave, Pocatello, Idaho. A viewing will be held prior beginning at 10:00 am. A graveside will follow at Mountain View Cemetery, 1520 South 5th Ave., Pocatello, ID 83205.
