Mary was born on December 20, 1953 in Albemarle, NC to Harry Ramsey Sr. and Emma Jean Kimmer Cooke. In addition to her parents, Mary was preceded in death by her brothers Stanley, Ramsey, and Tommy Cooke and one sister, Sherry Faye Cooke Baker. Mary is survived by her sisters Fonda Oldham and husband Jim & sister Lana Warlick and husband Dan. She is also survived by her cherished daughter Beth and special friends, Ketisha Daley, Theresa George and Beth Allman.
Her role as Aunt was treasured by her nieces, Hope Broadway Capps, Sherry Jean B. Rose and Barbara Faye Baker. Nephews John Broadway and Adam Oldham and great nephews, Clayton and Camden Broadway and Edgar Capps remember wonderful times spent at family gatherings with their fun loving aunt.
Mary's journey through life was marked by her devotion to her beloved daughter Beth.
Her life was a testament to the strength and resilience of the human spirit. Health challenges in her later years altered her pace of life but could not dampen her attitude. She was "spunky", always mischievous to the very end. She lived a blessed life filled with passion, humor, and love for family and dear friends. Her memories will live on in our hearts and she will be dearly missed.
The family would like to express our sincere thanks to all of Mary's health care providers, too numerous to mention by name.
A celebration of Mary's life will be held at Raymer-Kepner Funeral Home on Saturday, December 13, 2025 from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm.
