Mary Ruth Hoyt Wulfkuhle, 73, passed away peacefully on November 23, 2025, surrounded by the love of her family.
Born May 31, 1952, in Wichita, Kansas, to Gordon Elmer Hoyt and Thella Elizabeth Hazlett Hoyt, Mary lived a life of quiet strength, gentle faith, and a heart that made room for everyone who needed a mother’s love. On August 5, 1974, she married her beloved Harry Raymond Wulfkuhle, and together they opened their home and hearts wide.
Mary was the devoted mother of William Ashley Wulfkuhle and his wife Angie, and Nicholas Hoyt Wulfkuhle and his wife Ree, who truly became her daughter. She also had a stillborn son, Jonathan, whom she carried in her heart until she could hold him again, and a cherished bonus son, Dave Williams and his wife Sarah.
She was the adored Grandma of nine grandchildren—Richard, Paige, Ryan, Emily, Reed, Bella, Cora, William, and Calvin—and the treasured Great-Grandma of fourteen great-grandchildren who brought endless light to her days.
Her sister, Trudy Shyrock, of Wichita, Kansas, was her very best friend. She was preceded in death by her other sister, Marsha Ann Fabian.
Mary leaves behind a large and loving extended family.
A special thank you to Mary’s niece, Teresa Beham.
Services are private at the family’s request.
In lieu of flowers, plant something that blooms—Mary always believed flowers were little reminders that love keeps growing, even after we’re gone.
