In Loving Memory of Maryann Victoria Bethel
August 16, 1965 – June 16, 2025
Maryann Victoria Bethel, 59, of Bakersfield, California, passed away on June 16, 2025, at Adventist Health Bakersfield, surrounded by her family.
Born on August 16, 1965, in Bakersfield, Maryann was a lifelong resident who lived with deep love and bold spirit. A devoted mother and grandmother, she poured her heart into her family and made her house a warm and welcoming home. Her door was always open to close friends and family who needed a place to stay.
Maryann was happiest when she was surrounded by those she loved-her children, grandchildren, siblings, and friends. Whether it was a family trip to Pismo Beach, a casual lunch out, or simply sitting at home with music playing, she found joy in connection. She loved listening to worship music in recent years, and back in the day, she had a soft spot for oldies that echoed through her home and her heart.
Fiercely honest and never one to hold back her thoughts, Maryann had a personality that was as strong as it was unforgettable. She said what she meant and stood by the people she loved. She had a special bond with her dogs and was rarely seen without her beloved chihuahua, Katie, by her side.
Maryann was a woman of Christian faith, guided by her belief in God's love and grace. That same faith gave her strength through life's many challenges, especially in her final days.
She is survived by her children Priscilla Casey (CJ Casey), Raianna Ramirez, Julia Geiger (Mason Geiger), and Rogelio Ramirez III, Stepson Payden Bethel, grandchildren Pearce Casey, Sawyer Geiger, and Lars Geiger, her granddog Kuka, and beloved chihuahua Katie, her siblings Lisa Silva, Gena Garcia, Erica Crespo, Johnathon Lopez, and 10 nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Mark Bethel; her mother, Mary Victoria Mondragon; father, Alfonso Rea Jr; and brother, Michael Rea.
Maryann leaves behind a legacy of loyalty, love, and laughter. Her voice, her spirit, and her presence will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her. To plant a beautiful memorial tree in memory of Maryann, please visit our Tree Store.
