Maryann McFadden
May 25, 1938 – September 24, 2025
With heavy hearts and grateful souls, we announce the sudden passing of Maryann McFadden, who left this world on September 24, 2025, at the age of 87.
Maryann was more than a beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend-she was a radiant spark, a living light who brought warmth and joy wherever she went. Graceful, classy, and endlessly kind, she had a rare gift: making everyone feel like family. Whether you knew her for years or had just met her, she made you feel seen, valued, and loved.
Her joy was contagious, her laugh unforgettable. She had a way of finding us in tears and getting us to laugh. Even in the hardest times, she reminded us to enjoy life. She was a good mom-a really good mom-who loved us deeply and showed it every day.
Maryann stayed closely connected with her family, constantly texting, FaceTiming (on multiple accounts!), calling, and checking Facebook just to keep up with everyone. During COVID, we found unexpected gifts-endless games of Yahtzee on the phone, video chats, and time that became precious. Who knew something so good could come out of something so hard?
She would do anything for her family. If we needed something, she made sure we had it. Now it's her time to rest, and though it's hard, we know she's earned it.
She also shared her days with her beloved bird, Charlie, who was always by her side. He was her pride and joy. She taught him to speak, sing, dance, and love-and in return, he brought her comfort, laughter, and endless companionship.
We'll remember her on the couch eating toast, the road trips from Buffalo to Florida (so many guardrails!), and the Christmas tree that "put itself together." We'll treasure the grandchildren's sleepovers, messy egg hunts, and holidays filled with food, laughter, and love-because she made those moments magical.
Her one-of-a-kind "Happy Birthday" song became a family tradition all its own-and that joyful sound will echo in our hearts forever.
She is preceded in death by her beloved husband, Gerald McFadden, as well as her parents, John and Marian Welt; her brothers, Jack (Maureen) Welt, Ralph Welt; her sister, Joan (Richard) Tettelbach; her son, Guy McFadden; her grandchildren, Tabitha and Johanna; her brothers-in-law, Tom (Wendy) McFadden, Charlie McFadden, and Al Lillis; and her sister-in-law, Joan McFadden.
Maryann lives on in the hearts of her son, Lawrence John (Mary) Allen; five daughters Laurie (Michael) Bath, Deborah (Gary) Goettel, Pamela (Doug) Clark, Justine (Jim) Boneberg, and Emily McFadden; and each of her cherished grandchildren, Gary (Ann Marie) Goettel, Nicole (Oscar) Ruiz, Brandon (Katie) Goettel, Warren (Kylie) Bath, Matthew Bath, Mitchael (Amanda) Pingrey, Shane Pingrey, Lauryn Clark, Stephanie (Noah) White, Christopher Allen, Jared (Gordon) Allen, Nicholas (Angela) Allen, Briony (Kevin) Siler, Morgan (Dylan) Wojtkowski, Kelsie Allen, Gerry McFadden, and and Cassidy Boneberg; and her great-grandchildren, Emma, Jeremy, Isaiah, Aiden, Serenity, Silas, Natalie, Mackenzie, Carson, Owen, Cameron, Kaylee, Brody, Austin, Landon, Maxamilano, Josie, Remi, Hailey, Alexandra, and Emmalyn; sisters-in-law, Betty Welt, Catherine Clark; She also leaves behind countless nieces and nephews friends and neighbors lucky enough to be loved by her.
