Maryann Petersen, age 81, of Staples, passed away surrounded by her family on July 8, 2025.
Maryann was born on August 1, 1943, to Rodney and Inez (Carr) Steffes in Rochester, Minnesota. She dedicated her life to caring for others working as an LPN for over 40 years. She also enjoyed working at Clarks in Staples for over 10 years, where she formed many lasting friendships.
Maryann had a deep love for animals, especially her dogs. She found joy in many hobbies, including doing ceramics, tending her vegetable gardens, crocheting beautiful pieces for loved ones, and sharing her love through baking and cooking.
She is survived by her children, Curtis Petersen, Cyle (Lee) Petersen; her cherished grandchildren, Darwin, Sabrina, Dylan and Jessica Petersen; her sister, Rita Poole; and her nieces and nephews, Deana Petron, Lori Aasen, Rodney Steffes, Steven Steffes, and Holly Holton. She was preceded in death by her parents, Rodney and Inez, and brother John “Jack” Steffes.
A Celebration of Life will be held from 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM on Saturday, July 26, 2025, at the Brenny Family Funeral Chapel in Staples. Family and friends are invited to come and go as you please.
Maryann will be remembered for her kind heart, dedication to others, and the love she shared so freely with family, friends, and the many animals who found a home in her heart.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the Brenny Family Funeral Chapel, Staples.
