MaryEllen Beideman, 84, passed away peacefully on Saturday, June 26, 2025, at Flagler Hospital, St. Augustine, FL. Born in Allentown, PA, and formerly of Quakertown, PA, and Berlin, MD, she was the daughter of the late Eugene H. Bloch and Louise Dalcin Bloch. She was preceded in death by her husband of 40 years, Robert W. Beideman, and her sister Barbara Bloch Dick. She is survived by daughters Joanne and Susan Harcke, Linda, wife of Steve Bornyasz, and Jenny, wife of Brett Costello; and many grandchildren. She is also survived by her sister Kay and her husband Ron Loch, brother Gene and his wife Cindy Bloch, and sister Marge and her husband Bob Hatfield; and many nieces and nephews. MaryEllen was a caring and compassionate nurse who was a graduate of Lankenau Hospital School of Nursing, Kutztown University, and the University of Pennsylvania School of Nursing. She applied her Master of Science in Nursing degree to the fields of infection control and employee health at Lehigh Valley Hospital Center in Allentown, PA, and Atlantic General Hospital in Berlin, MD. Her 50-plus-year career in nursing even continued during the recent pandemic before moving to St. Augustine, FL, to enjoy her retirement near her daughter, Susan, and sisters Kay and Marge. MaryEllen was fond of reading, walking on the beach, dining out with friends and family, and cheering on her lifelong favorite football team, the Super Bowl 59 (LIX) Champions Philadelphia E-A-G-L-E-S. Services: A celebration of her life will be private for family and close friends. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a charity of your choice in her memory.
