MaryJane Quaranta Soyka
July 4, 1949 – November 1, 2025
Heaven just got a little louder, a little funnier, and a lot more sarcastic. On November 1, 2025 - which just so happened to be her mother's 99th birthday (because of course MaryJane would find the perfect date to make an exit) - Mary Jane Quaranta Soyka of New Jersey passed away peacefully, surrounded by her loving family, who were holding her hands, sharing stories, and probably making her laugh one last time.
Born in Brooklyn, NY on the Fourth of July, 1949, MaryJane came into the world with fireworks - literally - and never stopped bringing the spark. She began her career with Chase Bank, where she sharpened her wit and attention to detail, then moved to New Jersey in 1982 to work at the Woodbridge Post Office, where she ruled the mailroom until her retirement in 2008.
MaryJane was the definition of tough - the kind of woman who could handle anything life threw at her, including four kids who "drove her crazy" (her words, not theirs). She is survived by her devoted husband John Soyka, her brother James Quaranta and his wife Carmen, and her four children: Richard Crinigan, Thomas Crinigan, Karen Crinigan (and husband James), and Erin Crinigan (and husband Robert). She also leaves behind 16 grandchildren, 3 great-grandchildren, and one more great-grandbaby on the way - because her family just can't stop growing (and she wouldn't have it any other way).
MaryJane loved her family fiercely, especially her grandchildren, who could always count on her for love, laughter, and a little bit of sass. She helped raise more than a few of them, dishing out wisdom, hugs, and eye rolls in equal measure.
She was the heart of her family - a woman who could make you laugh when you least expected it, tell you the truth even when you didn't want to hear it, and still make sure you left her house with a full belly and a smile.
While her family will miss her terribly, they take comfort knowing she's reunited with her beloved parents, Thomas and Jenny, probably organizing things in Heaven and making sure everyone knows how to do it the right way - her way.
MaryJane lived life on her own terms: loud, loving, funny, and honest. And in true Mary Jane fashion, she'd probably tell us all to "stop crying already"
We love you MJ
