Mason Bryce Hanks, of Gueydan, LA, left to meet his creator on October 15, 2025, at the age of 21.
Born on September 2, 2004, Mason was a bright and kind hearted young man who smiled and could light up any room. He spent his childhood living in England, Ohio and mostly in Pearland where he made lasting memories. At the age of 15 he moved to Lake Arthur - a change that would shape the person he became. It was here where he found his true love for the outdoors.
No longer a city boy, Mason embraced small town, life with open arms and became the young man we know and love dearly. A student at Sowela, Mason was pursuing a degree in P-TECH and was excited about the future he was building for himself. Mason's great humor and big heart made him someone everyone loved to be around. His family and friends will forever remember his generous heart.
Left to cherish their memories of Mason are his mother, Heather Conner; his father, Dennis "T-Boy" (Tabby) Hanks; his siblings, Kyzer LeJeune, Bradlee Hanks, Kenzie (Kyle) Hoppie, Kooper LeJeune, Madelyn Hanks and Maylee Desormeaux; one nephew, Wesley Hoppie; grandparents, Lonnie Kibodeaux, Virgie Hanks, George LeJeune, Paula and Billy Cormier, and Kenny Hay.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Hillard Hanks, Ronald "Bean" Conner and Joella Bertrand Kibodeaux.
Carrying him to his final place of rest will be Maddox Soileau, Bradlee Hanks, Kooper LeJeune, Kyzer LeJeune, Ethan Onellion, Beaux Hobson and Tristan Thompson. Honorary Pallbearer will be Daxton Soileau.
A gathering of family and friends will be held on Friday October 17, 2025, in the Miguez Funeral home Chapel in Lake Arthur, LA, from 2:00 PM until 9:00 PM. A rosary will be recited at 6:00 PM that day.
Visitation will resume the following day on Saturday October 18, 2025, in the funeral home chapel from 8:00 AM until the time of service. Services will be held at 10:00 AM at Miguez Funeral Home in Lake Arthur, LA, with Pastor Josh Belt officiating.
He will be laid to rest in Andrus Cove Cemetery, under the direction of Miguez Funeral Home.
