Robert "Bobby" James Touchet

Robert "Bobby" James Touchet, born on October 15, 1946, of Welsh, Louisiana, passed away peacefully, surrounded by his loving family.

Bobby proudly served his country in the U.S. Army for 3 years, demonstrating unwavering commitment and patriotism. After his military service, he began a long and fulfilling career at Unisys, where he worked as a Computer Field Service Engineer for over 38 years.

In June of 1967, Bobby married his high school sweetheart, Gloria LeJeune Touchet. They shared 62 wonderful years together before her passing in May. They shared an endless love for each other that stood the test of time. Their life was filled with adventure and love-camping, fishing, hunting, coaching baseball, raising animals for 4-H and FFA, and cherishing every moment with their children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Everyone who knew Bobby knew that he LOVED his KBON radio station and listening to his Cajun music! This was the highlight of his day.

Bobby was a devoted father, a proud grandfather and great-grandfather, and a courageous man known for his generosity and humor. He was an avid sports fan who cheered passionately for the Houston Astros, Houston Texans, and LSU Tigers.

Bobby's sense of humor was legendary. He often shared stories from his mischievous school days- like the times he and his cousin skipped class and hid on the second floor of the schoolhouse-only to be caught by their uncle, the janitor.

Then there was a high school trip to Galveston that took an unexpected turn. While collecting rocks for Gloria's flower bed, Bobby accidentally led Gwen and her best friend to a topless beach. They saw "wildlife," just not the kind they expected! That story became a cherished family joke for years.

Even in his final weeks, Bobby's humor never waned. After trying a CPAP machine in the hospital, he exclaimed, "Get this crap off of me! It sucked my teeth out!" Gwen and the nurse searched everywhere, only to find his dentures tucked under his hospital gown between his knees. Bobby laughed and said, "I'm sure glad they didn't bite me."

Later, while walking with a physical therapist, he paused, looked behind him, and asked, "Is it still back there?" When the therapist began searching and asked, "What did you lose?" Bobby replied, "My butt! I have been in bed too long."

Bobby's legacy lives on in the laughter, love, and memories he shared with those around him. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.

He is survived by his children: Stephen (Dawn) Touchet, Rachel (Gene) Hicks Jr., and Gwendolyn (Duane) Innmon; grandchildren: Alyssa Touchet, Brittnie Adams, Ryland Hicks, Reiden Hicks, Shelby Innmon, Brittany Innmon, and Gavin Innmon; great-grandchildren: Gracie Adams, Lincoln Adams, and Sophie Rodriguez; siblings: Judy (Johnny) Avant, Theresa (Robert) Cormier, Randy (Cindy) Touchet, and Belinda Brown; niece: Jessica LeJeune; brother-in-law: Chris McElhaney; and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his beloved wife Gloria Touchet; parents Rena and Ernest Touchet Sr.; in-laws Loydson and Fannie LeJeune; siblings Ernest (Wanda) Touchet Jr., David (Diane) Touchet, Cindy McElhaney, Mary Smith, Debbie Mott, and Angela Touchet.

Pallbeares will be: Gavin Innmon, Ryland Hicks, Reiden Hicks, Randy Touchet, Shaun Touchet, Andrew Bierig.

A funeral service will be held on Saturday, October 25, 2025 at 12:00 PM in the Miguez Funeral Home Chapel in Jennings. Visitation will begin that morning from 9:00 AM until the time of service. A burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery under the direction of Miguez Funeral Home.
