Mathias "Matt" Diaz
It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved, Mathias "Matt" Diaz, whose life was defined by faith, family, career and help to others. He was surrounded by love, leaving behind a legacy of strength, compassion and unwavering dedication.
A hardworking man in every sense, he believed in the dignity of honest labor and the importance of providing for those he loved. He carried the weight of responsibility with quiet grace, never seeking recognition, but always doing what needed to be done – for his family and friends.
Faith was the cornerstone of his life. It guided his decisions, his relationships, and the way he treated others with kindness, respect and dignity. He lived his values every day and not just with words but with action.
Matt was born in McNeil Texas. He started his career at the Austin White Lime Company. He was given the opportunity to work with IBM and retired from there after 26 years.
Matt was a life-long parishioner of St. Williams Catholic Church joyfully serving on the adoration team.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Eligio Diaz and Amada Hernanadez, his loving wife of 60 years, Dionisia "Janie" Diaz, his brothers and his sisters and his beloved granddaughter, Mia Diaz.
He is survived by his four children, Terry McCord (Steve), David Diaz, Michael Diaz (Priscilla) and Sylvia Diaz, his loving grandchildren (12) and his great grandchildren (12).

Visitation will be held from 6:00-7:00pm on Thursday, October 23 with a memorial rosary following at 7:00pm at Beck Funeral Home, 15709 Ranch Rd. 620. A memorial mass will be held on Friday, October 24 at 10:00am at St. William Catholic Church.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests memorial donations to St Williams Catholic Church (saintwilliams.org) or Sacred Heart Community Clinic (sacredheartclinic.org).
