MS. MATRICIA ANN DAWSON, affectionately known to many as "Trisha" was born on Tuesday, April 21, 1970 to Edith Mae Dawson and the late Milledge Samuels, Sr. in Augusta, GA. God in His infinite wisdom, too wise to make a mistake, saw a need to come and receive His own from labor to reward, our beloved Matricia Ann Dawson "Trisha" passed away on Monday, February 12, 2024 at the Methodist Hospital Northeast in Live Oak, TX.
She was raised in
Thomson, GA. At an early age, Trisha received Christ into her life as her personal savior and joined the Greater Saint James African Methodist Church of
Thomson, GA where she attended with her family members. Trisha began her childhood education curriculum by attending the public school system of McDuffie County, GA. She finished her studies here in
Thomson, GA by graduating with the Thomson High School Class of 1988. Shortly thereafter, Trisha enlisted in the Army National Guard. She served faithfully for almost five years in the Reserve, and then decided to go active duty and joined the United States Army where she served diligently for sixteen years and seven months. During her stay in the military, Trisha received multiple medals, badges, and awards for her outstanding role as a Combat Medic. She served heroically for her country in both of the Gulf Wars.
While stationed at Fort Sam in Houston, TX, Trisha decided to call it quits for the military, so she retired in 2009 and made San Antonio, TX her home. During her stay in San Antonio, TX, Trisha raised three lovely children. She was a loving and devoted mother, daughter, sister, cousin, and friend. Although it seems that Trisha is gone much too soon from our presence, her pleasant smile, and the love she exuded will be missed more than words alone can say, but her most precious of memories will continue to linger in our minds and live on forever in our hearts. Until we see you again...we love you Trisha, we shall see you again one sweet day, you are in Gods unchanging hands now. In addition to her father, our dearest Matricia Ann Dawson is predeceased by her only son, Tyquavius Jerrod Dawson; two sisters, Shirley Samuels-Elam and Theresa Samuels-Luke and one brother, Junnie Samuels.
Left to cherish her wonderful memory: two daughters, Makayla Amori Dawson and Misha Amya Dawson, both of San Antonio, TX; a grandson, Justyss Jerrod Dawson of
Orlando, FL; a god-granddaughter, Amani Veronica Stanton of San Antonio, TX; a loving mother, Edith Mae Dawson of
