Matt Jennings, 54, of Beacon, passed away at his home on October 1, 2025. Matthew Alexander Jennings, son of Stephen Craig and Kathleen Lucas (Slofkosky) Jennings, was born on November 26, 1970, in Ottumwa, Iowa. He grew up in Eddyville and graduated from Eddyville High School in 1989. Matt was involved in drama, jazz band, and served as a drum major, as well as performing solos for the choir, during his high school career. After graduating, he held various jobs in the construction and restaurant industries. Matt married the love of his life, Amanda Marie Meade, on December 6, 1997, in Knoxville, Iowa. He enjoyed playing the guitar and drums in his spare time. Matt was considered an outstanding musician who played in several local bands throughout the area. Matt's greatest joy was spending time with his family. Those left to cherish Matt's memory are his wife of 27 years, Amanda; his daughters: Ryon (Matthew) Johannes of Beacon; Nicole (Andrew) Cowell of Arbela, Missouri; his grandchildren: Jaxon Cowell, Nolan Johannes, Emersyn Cowell, and Bentlee Johannes; his brother, Graham (Monica) Jennings of Boone; and his father and his wife, Steve (Michelle) Jennings of Scottsdale, Arizona. Matt was preceded in death by his mother, Kathleen; and his grandparents, William (Bill) and Mary Lucas. As was his wish, Matt's body has been cremated, and a Celebration of Life is planned for a later date. Memorial contributions may be made to his family. Langkamp Funeral Chapel & Crematory has been entrusted with Matt's final arrangements.
