Matt Allen "Mattman" Magbee, 54, of Oklahoma City, passed away on October 9, 2025, in his hometown, leaving behind a legacy of laughter, compassion, and love. Born on August 3, 1971, in Oklahoma City, Matt was the son of Linda Farrell and the late Todd Magbee. From an early age, Matt's generous spirit and quick wit endeared him to everyone he met.
A proud attendee of Oklahoma City University, Matt built a long and respected career as a financial advisor and licensed insurance advisor. He was known not only for his professional integrity but also for his commitment to helping others - offering sound advice, steady friendship, and a listening ear to clients and friends alike. A proud Christian, Matt embodied his faith through service, volunteering with his church, the rescue mission, local animal shelters, and supporting Alcoholics Anonymous and veterans' groups.
Matt's proudest accomplishment was being a father. Married for 30 years to the love of his life, Leslee, the two built a life centered on family, faith, and friendship. Together they raised their son, Jacob, who was the light of Matt's life. He adored his wife and son and cherished every moment spent with them, whether traveling, attending concerts, or simply gathering around the table to share stories and laughter.
Known affectionately as "Mattman," he was a natural performer - a thespian and lover of music with a knack for humor. Whether telling jokes, acting in community productions, or singing along to his favorite tunes, Matt brought joy wherever he went. He found peace in playing pool, competing in rifle shooting, writing, and studying history and classic cinema. Friends often describe him as loyal, genuine, and generous with his time and resources, a man who consistently lived life to its fullest and never hesitated to lend a helping hand.
Matt is survived by his beloved wife, Leslee; his son, Jacob; his mother, Linda Farrell; his aunt Kathryn Farrell; his grandmother, Betty Lou Magbee; his siblings Patrick Van Noy, Mark Magbee, Chris Magbee, and Sara Jones; his stepmother Jana Magbee; and a host of extended family and dear friends. He was preceded in death by his father, Todd Magbee.
A service celebrating Matt's life will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, October 17, at Buchanan Funeral Service, 8712 North Council Road, Oklahoma City, Oklahoma 73132. The family extends heartfelt thanks to all who were part of Matt's journey.
