Marshall Hobbs Furr was born on March 8, 1933, and passed from this life on September 9, 2025.
Marshall had a passion for working on cars and could build one from the ground up. He brought that same level of precision and care to his garden, which he meticulously planned and maintained each year. His large, well-tended garden brought him joy year-round.
A dedicated Oklahoma Sooners fan, Marshall also cheered for the Dallas Cowboys. One of his favorite memories was taking his son to the Cotton Bowl in 1960 to watch the Cowboys play. Both were avid fans of running back Calvin Hill, and it was a thrill for them to see him play in such a big game.
He found comfort in the simple pleasures of life, whether it was watching The Big Bang Theory, enjoying old black-and-white westerns, or sitting down to a good plate of Mexican food (always with plenty of hot sauce). He had a sharp mind for electronics and could fix almost anything, from televisions to computers, often lending a hand to friends and family in need.
Marshall attended high school in Hatch, New Mexico, before serving his country honorably in the United States Army. Following his service, he pursued higher education at OSU Tech and later graduated from Oklahoma City University. He went on to work for the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), where he dedicated 55 years of service before retiring.
Marshall and his beloved wife, Fran, enjoyed traveling together, with favorite destinations including Branson, Las Vegas, and Hawaii. He also loved good Mexican food, always accompanied by a healthy dose of hot sauce.
Marshall was a hardworking man who always provided for his family. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, father-in-law, and friend. His greatest joy in life was the love he shared with his wife of over 40 years, Fran, who was truly the love of his life.
Marshall is survived by his daughter, Robin Stark, and her husband Randy; his son, Johnny Furr, and his wife Melissa; and his grandchildren, Ryanne and Logan. He is also remembered fondly by many other loving family members and friends.
He was preceded in death by his cherished wife, Fran.
