Obituary published on Legacy.com by Howard K. Hill Funeral Services - Bloomfield on Jan. 8, 2026.
Our beloved Matthew Alcee Renee departed this life on Friday, December 26, 2025, at the age of 74.
Matthew was born on June 3, 1951, in the town of Castries, Saint Lucia. He was the cherished son of Joseph Renee and Cecelia Alcee. In the mid1980s, Matthew migrated to the United States, carrying with him the spirit, pride, and resilience of his island home.
Matthew was a devoted father, son, brother, son-in-law, nephew, cousin, friend, and grandfather. Known for his impeccable style and charismatic presence, he had a deep love for country and western music, with George Jones and Jim Reeves among his favorite singers. When Matthew entered the room, the party truly began. He moved across the dance floor with effortless grace and flair, always accompanied by a captivating smile that stretched from ear to ear.
A man of many talents, Matthew was a successful electrician and mechanic. His skilled traits live on through his three sons-Bertie Renee, Ronald Jean, and Ricardo Charles - who have excelled in similar career fields.
