Matthew David Angove of Zephyr Cove, Nevada went home to be with the LORD and his mother on June 13, 2025. Matthew's passing came following a lengthy battle with chronic and uncontrollable Lyme disease. Matthew was preceded in death by his mother Linda Metzger Angove. He is survived by his loving dad David Angove of Roanoke, his faithful brother James Angove also of Nevada, and his devoted fiancé Kelly Coxe. Matthew has innumerable uncles, aunts, and cousins who mourn his passing.
Matthew was born and raised in Roanoke, VA and is a 1998 graduate of Patrick Henry High School. He was a lifelong member of The Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Roanoke where he was confirmed as a young man. Matthew was an outdoor enthusiast who became quite an accomplished snow boarder. He worked as an adventure guide on the river rapids in the summer and at ski resorts in the winter. He eventually worked as a chef at Edgewood country club. He had a wonderful sense of humor, and also enjoyed being a magician whenever he had an opportunity.
Mathew's remembrance will be conducted on Friday June 27, 2025 at Simpson Funeral Home 5160 Peters Creek Rd NW Roanoke, VA 24019. The visitation and funeral will be on the same day with visitation at 10:00 AM, services at 11:00 AM, and interment directly following at Evergreen Burial Park. Matthew, all who know you already miss you. God speed.

Dearest Kelly, James and Mr. David Angove,

It is with so much sadness that I have discovered that my friend Matt has passed.
I know how difficult the last few years have been for him with his physical injuries and most recently his struggle with Lyme disease.

He tried so hard, did everything possible to battle and overcome the awful symptoms of Lyme and his constant physical pain.

And yet, he was always kind and welcoming towards me, always asked with concern about when I had at times my own difficulties.

And when his and Jame´s Mom was diagnosed with cancer, he and James both dropped everything to be there for both their mom and their Dad.

Although Matt was not one to openly gush as a romantic, as he was always very meditative and centered, he most definitely was fully in love with Kelly. He became so relaxed when Kelly was with him and I could see that he adored her.

And Floyd. He and Kelly both loved Floyd so very much and Floyd was an amazing, sweet, and happy dog.

I will greatly miss my friend Matt.
I feel that he is finally at peace and free of the pain of which he endured for far too many years.

I hope that this brings some comfort to his beloved Kelly, his brother James, his dad and all of his family and friends.
