Matthew was both a fisherman and a skilled commercial glazier. He had a deep love for fishing, NASCAR, and college football, but what he cherished most was spending time with his family and grandchildren. A true homebody at heart, Matthew was a devoted family man who dedicated his life to those he loved-always putting family and friends first.
He is preceded in death by his father, David Russell Barefield; wife, Tina Marie Barefield; son, Oakey Clark and sister, Ricki Kozlowsky.
Those left to cherish his memory are his daughter, Kandeana Taylor; sons, Zachary Barefield and Joshua Clark; mother, Pamela Barefield; brother, Paul Knight (Melanie); 15 grandchildren. Also to remember him are 3 nieces and 2 nephews.
Funeral services will be held 2:00 P.M. Friday, May 30, 2025, at Heritage Funeral Home with Pastor Melvin Taite officiating. Interment will follow at Sand Hill Community Church Cemetery.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to services at the funeral home on Friday.
