Matthew Levi Bickle passed away April 22, 2023, surrounded by family, after a courageous TBI battle. Matt was born to Mikeal and Deeon Bickle on June 18, 1979. He was born and raised in Miles City and known by so many for his talkative personality and contagious laugh.
Matt attended school in Miles City. After several little jobs through school, Matt found his passion in construction. He was very detail oriented, and this led him to start his own business as a contractor.
Matt was a daredevil and craved an adrenaline rush whether it being a derby or jumping off the Stratosphere. Matt's loves in his life included his children, his wife, his family, his friends, his Harley, his boxers, smoking a mean brisket and a good crafted beer.
Matt loved with everything in him. On a daily basis he would say to me, "til death do us part", which I would then respond, "but forever in my heart". I spoke that exact message to him that early morning as he took his last breath. I asked him to please be there for our 8th anniversary, that was on April 17, 2023. He gave me that final gift.
Matt is survived by his wife Tammy; his parents Mikeal and Deeon Bickle; grandmother Mardella Vaagen; brother Randy; daughter Rychele (Chase); sons Kadan Bickle and Layne Holmes; uncle Paul Vaagen; niece Autumn (Dan, Arlo, & Eleanor); and sister-in-law and friend Betsy Goff. Matt also leaves behind numerous family members and friends.
Matt was preceded in death by his brother Scott; grandparents Mary Warford Stabler, Herman Stabler, Marvin Vaagen and Leonard Bickle.
On this journey, we've written through every obstacle Matt has faced. Alone has never been his destiny. With God in his heart and Tammy by his side, Matt has bravely faced insurmountable odds head on. Awake at dawn and ready to face each day head on has been how Matt's navigated through life.
Behind the scenes kind of guy is where Matts heart was. Countless stories of a man who did things and asked for no mention of the good deeds he did for anyone who was in need that crossed his path.
So much more that could be written about a man who is and will always be tougher than nails and deep inside is his hidden heart of gold.
Blessed beyond belief are the people he touched with his love of life and his humor we all will miss.
Today God decided it was his time for Matt to get his wings and soar straight to heaven where he belongs.
I'm sure the flight left him with a smile.
