Matthew Burchfield, age 40, of Conneaut Lake, PA passed away unexpectedly at home on Tuesday September 24, 2024 after a long battle with renal disease. He was born on September 26, 1983 in Meadville, PA to Michael and Julie (Jaskolski) Burchfield.
Matt was a 2002 graduate of Conneaut Lake High School. He attended Edinboro University studying Animation for two years. He worked at Maclean-Fogg prior to his disability. He was the "one man band" known for playing percussion and harmonica. He loved animation, cartooning and collecting books and memorabilia, especially Superman, Ninja Turtles and Disney. He loved being an uncle, would do anything for anybody and was kind to everyone he met. He will be missed.
In addition to his parents, he is survived by his sister, Christin Smith and her husband, Adam of Meadville, PA and his brother, Jake Burchfield of Conneaut Lake, PA; his aunt, Dawn Hess, his uncle, David Jaskolski and his wife, Clarena, his nephew, Paxton Smith and his niece, Sophie Smith and many cousins and friends.
Matt was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Joe and Stella (Maziarz) Jaskolski and his paternal grandparents, Don and Barb (Thompson) Burchfield.
There will be no calling hours. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
