Matthew was a beloved son, brother and friend. He had a kind and generous heart, always willing to lend a helping hand to those in need. His infectious laughter and warm smile brought joy to those around him, even during his darkest days.
Matthew attended school in Savannah, GA and graduated from Providence Day School in 2009.
On July 3, 2024, the illness and addiction that had stolen Matthew's goals and dreams took his life. His friends and family will remember him for the loving man that he was.
Matthew is survived by his loving and dedicated parents, Virgil and Susan Cobb; his twin brother, Garrett (Amanda) Cobb; sister, Victoria Cobb; and brother, Chuck (Megan) Smith. He is also survived by his nieces, Cason (Max) Sires, Madelyn Smith; and nephew, Cooper Smith. Matthew had many beloved Aunts and Uncles, Diane (Dave) Smith, Brenda (Mike) McClain, Deborah Lovett and Mark (Paula) Cobb.
Matthew is preceded in death by his brother, Jonathan Smith; grandparents, George and Lena Rowe and Virgil and Gladys Cobb, Sr.
The family will hold a private family service.

Matt came to stay with us in Alabama and I got a chance to get to know my cousin who I had more in common with than either one of us had realized. Although we lost contact over the years, I still hoped for his full recovery that he so desperately desired. He was very supportive for me during his stay with us while I was trying to get my life back toget as he was also. We were out fishing one night when I got the news that my cousin on the opposite side of the family had tragically passed. He was there for me through it all keeping my head up and I´ll never forget his kind soul. Rest easy cousin!
