Matthew Crosby

Matthew Maurice Crosby, 65, of Erie, Pennsylvania, passed away unexpectedly on Friday, December 29,2023 at his residence. He was born in Erie, son of Mose Crosby and Willie Mae Crosby, on September 27,1958. Matthew was a 1978 graduate of Academy High School in Erie and worked as a transporter for AHN St. Vincents Hospital. "Reese Boy," as he was known enjoyed playing cards, watching movies, a diehard Pittsburgh Steelers fan and spending time with his kids, nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by both parents Mose and WillieMae Crosby, grandson Messiah S. McCullum, sisters Mildred Cook, Diane Bankhead, brother James Crosby and brother in law James Spain. Survivors include daughters; Mockia Crosby and Tamlyn Deboe. Sons; RaShee (Olivia) McLaurin and RaSon McLaurin(Tammie).Granddaughter Raniya McLaurin, both Toia Crockett, Arashee Torain and DeCarra Crockett whom he helped raise. Mother of his children Darlene McLaurin, close friend Ronald Wiggins. Eleven Grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. He also leaves to cherish his memories, sisters; Frances Spain, Gloria Jean Hammond, Denise Gregory, Debbie Crosby and Pamela Crosby. Brothers; Benny Crosby and Ronnie Crosby. A host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends, that will truly miss his presence.
A public viewing will be held on Saturday, January 13,2024 at 3:00 p.m. until the time of his celebration of life service at 5:00 p.m. with Rev. Owen Rhodes Eulogizing, Interment will be Private. Funeral arrangements are entrusted to House of Paradise Cremation & Funeral Services Inc.
