Matthew Lee Davidson, 42, passed away peacefully at home in Plover WI on January 28, 2025.
A memorial service will be held at 3 pm on Friday, February 7, 2025 at Woodlands Church, 190 Hoover Avenue, Plover WI. Friends and family are invited to gather and share memories during a visitation at Woodlands from 1 pm until the service.
Matt was born June 29, 1982 in Edina MN, second son of Jim and Nancy (Potter) Davidson. He is survived by his son Connor Lee Davidson, his dad Jim, and siblings Luke Davidson (Crystal) and Ann Ilagan (Lee Ilagan), as well as his bonus Bondeson family: mom Ginny Davidson and siblings David (Heather), John (Melissa), and Daniel (Gentley) Bondeson. He is also survived by his special Aunt Pat (Potter) Watson and Uncle Carl Watson and other aunts and uncles, cousins, nieces and a nephew. His Mom, Nancy Davidson, predeceased him and he often spoke of how much he missed her.
Matt developed diabetes as a young elementary school student, and that remained a life struggle. He was interested in sports, especially hockey, softball and baseball, basketball, football, and golf. He loved to go carp fishing at Riverfront Rendezvous Days with his friends, and disc-golfing with his son. Later he kept his beloved hockey jerseys and sticks and baseball caps and cheered for his favorite teams, relishing a trip with his dad or friends to go to a game. He watched movies and enjoyed concerts and traveling when he could. Matt was social, fiercely loyal to his friends, willing to help, and full of fun and silliness. More than anything, he deeply loved his son Conner and was proud of him.
He excelled in leadership training at Challenge Academy at Fort McCoy where he obtained his GED during his sophomore year. He was proud of his work years at Radio Shack and in various food establishments in the area.
We wish to thank family and friends and Woodlands Church who have so generously helped all of us. The Central Wisconsin area also provided much assistance to Matt in his battle with diabetes. The Plover Police Department and the Plover Fire Department/EMS, medical personnel in the Marshfield and Aspirus systems, the caring staff at Davita Kidney Care, Inclusa Managed Care, and Plover Taxi all were part of Matt's support system, and we are grateful.

Matt was going to dialysis at 5:30 every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday with my wife when she was alive. He was a real trooper and never complained even though it was a tough road. Rest in peace Matt. No more suffering.
