Matthew D. Dickerson, age 36, died on May 16, 2024.
He was born January 19, 1988, to Davin and Denise (Steenbock) Dickerson in Omaha, NE. Matt graduated from Tri-Center High School and was working for the Iowa Department of Transportation.
Matt was a loving husband, father, son, uncle, and friend. He was a big family man, his 2 daughters were his pride and joy. Matt had a love for football, forever a Nebraska Huskers fan, being surrounded by family and friends, family camping trips, working outside, and supporting his daughters in anything and everything they did. He would do anything for anyone, at anytime, but was never one to ask for other's help no matter how hard the job/project was. Matt was a proud business owner of his own lawncare business "Creative Lawn & Lighting" for over 10 years before changing to his career at the IA DOT. Matt especially enjoyed when it came time to hang Christmas Lights for all his customers and always ensured the lines in the grass were perfectly straight. We will greatly miss all the "Matt Dickerson" stories that were long and included every little detail, relative or not, the way he could make the whole room laugh, the dance parties with his girls, late night talks around the bonfire, and much more. Matt will be greatly missed by his family, friends, coworkers and many others.Matt is survived by his wife, Kelsey Dickerson; daughters, Kenzie Dickerson and Harper Dickerson; parents, Davin and Denise Dickerson; siblings and their spouses, Shannon and Derrick Danker, Taylor and Carter Oliver, Hanna and Kenny Jansen, Emma and Jaden Todd, Noah and Jaden Dickerson, and Sam Dickerson; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Tim and Staci Ploen; sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Kaitlin and Chris O'Leary; grandparents-in-law, Nancy and Richard Armstrong, Doug Blumer; aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins; a host of other family and friends.
Visitation will be held from 3:00 PM - 8:00 PM at Hoy Kilnoski Funeral Home on Wednesday, May 22, 2024.
Funeral Service will be held at 10:00 AM at Hoy Kilnoski Funeral Home on Thursday, May 23, 2024. Interment will be in the Neola Township Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family will direct memorials towards his daughters' education.
