Published by Legacy on Aug. 12, 2024.
Matthew E. Erion, of Wilmington, DE, passed away on August 9, 2024, two days after his 59th birthday.
Matthew was born at the Naval Hospital in Jacksonville, FL, son of Gale "John" Erion and the late Dolores Erion. He moved to Delaware when his father retired from the Navy in 1974. Matthew graduated from John Dickinson high school where he played football, baseball, and wrestled. Matthew was an all-around athlete, small but mighty. After high school, Matthew began his career as a Sales Associate at Sears in the Prices Corner Shopping Center, where he worked for over 30 years. In his free time, Matthew was an avid sports fan and could be found rooting for his beloved New York Yankees, Las Vegas Raiders, and the Oklahoma Sooners football team. Matthew is predeceased by his mother, Dolores Erion.
Matthew will be missed by his father, Gale "John" Erion; brother, Michael (Liai) Erion; sister, Montine Willen (William); and many nieces and nephews who all enjoyed spending time with their uncle.

I remember the time Matt had a tick on the side of his face & wanted a bandaid because he thought it was a scab. He was little at that time.
