Matthew Steven Graveson, 32, of Fayetteville, NC passed away on Monday, 6 August 2024.
He was born at MacDill Air Force Base, FL in 1992 to Peter and Donna Louise Graveson. Then relocated to Fayetteville which was his home for most of his life. Matthew attended Arran Lake Baptist Church for Preschool and Kindergarten graduation then Village Christain Academy for grades 1st through 5th. He completed the rest of his education at Fayetteville Christain School, where he was able to continue his passion of playing football on both JV and Varsity teams. During his education he was able to travel to Africa on a senior mission trip which gave him lifelong friends and memories. He was a social person who loved to talk so his career path started at Ale House while still attending High School. Matthew continued his career path in the restaurant industry and even competed in the Fayetteville's Service Industry Showdown Competition on 21 August 2016 and was awarded 2nd place. Matthew was gifted with the ability to draw with hopes of one day becoming a professional tattoo artist and even created some for other people as well as most of his own ink. If you truly knew him then you knew that he would do anything for anyone and he wore his heart on his sleeve which was both one of his greatest assets and downfalls.
Matthew is survived by Peter Graveson, his father, Donna Louise Graveson, his mother and Kristian Aaron Graveson, his brother. Matthew had a soft spot for furry friends, treating each and every one like the valuable family member they were so he is also survived by his fur babies Layla Skye and Duke.
Matthew will always be remembered for his smile, laughter and his beard. We could not have asked for a better son, and we will miss Matthew more than words could express every day. His memory will live on in our hearts and the hearts of all those who truly loved him.
A Celebration of Life Gathering is Monday, 12 August beginning at 4:00 pm until 6:00 pm at Adcock Funeral Home and Crematory. In honor of Matt's love of football, the family requests that those attending the celebration of his life please wear FL Gators, NY Giants or their favorite football team attire.
