I went to school with Matthew. Elementary school, and middle school we would wait at the bus stop and just chat. We would play together during the summer.
Somehow, all this time passed and I never heard, never got word of his passing until I met Justin today. Though its belated, my heart goes out to you, and I'll never forget the conversations we used to have. To all of Matthews loved ones, I hope you're doing well, and I'm sorry I couldn't offer my condolences sooner.

Matthew, I can't believe it's been one year today since your passing. I think of you often and miss you horribly. But I always think back at the fun times at your mom's house when we would sit on the back deck and then Katie would come over and we would all sit and talk and laugh. I know you are still that guardian angel that sits on your mom's shoulder looking over her. Karen, I love you so much my bestest friend and I am thinking of you today.

Matt was an absolutely great and fun person. I remember the night we stayed up until daylight just talking and joking, watching bad horror movies at Carl's apartment. I regret not getting to know him better. My thoughts are with Carl and Justin and the rest of Matt's family. He will be missed.

My dear Matthew you will never be forgotten. I loved it when you would come over with me and your mom and sometimes Katie would show up just knowing you were there and just sit and talk on the back deck. You were an amazing kid that I watched grow up. I think about you every day. Karen, You are my dearest friend and I will be there for you always. Matthew will be sorely missed, he and Curtis were great friends since we moved to Varina in 1997, Matthew would just pop over to the house and surprise us as well as put a smile on our faces. Matthew had a great heart.
