Matthew David LaBove, 52, of Dayton, Texas, passed away on March 9, 2026. He was born on December 11, 1973, in Fort Worth, Texas. Matthew was raised by his loving parents Robert and Lois LaBove in Beaumont, Plano, and Fairview, Texas.

He enjoyed sports and the outdoors growing up, playing basketball and proudly earning his Eagle Scout badge. At a young age he showed an aptitude for drawing, art, and design. Whether a painting, sketch, or sculpture, many of his creations adorn the homes of his family. After graduating from Allen High School, Matthew went on to earn a Bachelor's Degree in Engineering from East Texas State University and later his Master's of Business Administration.

Matthew spent the first decade of his career in aerospace engineering working on planes from all over the world. He was an avid consumer of anything related to history and aviation, and loved model trains, and woodworking. His interests and knowledge led him to the logistics industry where his keen eye for detail, his tenacity, and his cool demeanor under pressure found him a leading voice in transportation of dangerous goods, hazardous materials, and cryogenics. Eventually, Matthews' talents brought him to be the Chief Operating Officer for Demi Container Services, a position he loved and was proud to earn.

A lifelong sports fan, Matthew cheered on the Dallas Stars, the Texas Rangers, and the Dallas Cowboys, even after moving to Houston.

Above all though, Matthew cherished family. He met his high school sweetheart, Linette Gates in 1991 and they married in 1996. He shared a love of Disney with her, and passed on his love of Star Wars and the Marvel Cinematic Universe to their children, Connor and Kassandra.

He is survived by his parents Robert and Lois; his wife Linette; his son Connor; his daughter Kassandra and her fiance Colton; his brother Christopher and his wife Leslie Garner and their children JT and Annaliese; his sister Nicole Hatcher and her husband Philip and their children Preston and Ezekiel; along with many aunts, uncles, cousins, and cherished friends.

Matthew will be remembered for his creativity, his gentle spirit, and the love he shared with those around him. His presence will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
