Matthew Todd Loucks, 48, of Uniontown, Ohio, passed away on June 12, 2025. Born in Akron on November 11, 1976, he was a 1995 graduate of Central Hower High School. Matt proudly served in the United States Army for 13 years, achieving the rank of Staff Sergeant. Following his military service, he continued to lead with discipline and integrity in his career as Director of Building Technology for Comfort Systems USA. Matt was a strong, intelligent, and confident man who truly loved life. Matt was a man that always had the answer and made it feel like with him by your side everything would be okay, everything was fixable with him by your side.He found joy in the simple, everyday rhythms of life, like spending time outside working in the yard, golfing, and watching OSU and Steelers football. He cherished his time with family and found deep happiness in the moments of life at home.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents Harry and Evelyn Thomas, nephew Zachary Doherty, and his stepfather Chuck Summers. Matthew is survived by his devoted wife, Sarah Loucks; Adored children: Mattison Loucks (Fiancé Dylan Dutschke), Charlotte Loucks, and Emily Loucks; and former stepson Trevor Walker, who remained a meaningful part of his life. He was a proud “Papa” to grandchildren Bennett Dutschke and Denver Dutschke. He is also survived by his mother, Judith Summers known affectionately by Matt as “Mumsy”, and siblings with whom he shared a life long bond: Jay Loucks II (Joanne), Pamela Doherty (Shawn), Chad Loucks (Valerie), and Robin Shockley (Harold). Matt was cherished by his nieces and nephews: Krista O’Neill (Sean), Brittney Kerr (James), Kevin Doherty (Hanna), Kaylee Hardy (Jordan), Kameron Shockley (Fiancée Amber Jones), and Kyle Shockley, Janna Kappler (Brad), Jay Loucks III, BreeAnn Wentling (Ross), Tyler Bishop, Jason Bishop; and great-nieces and nephews: Braylee Doherty, Blaise Doherty, Raelynn Kerr, Rowan Kerr, Connor Hartman, Kimber Hartman, Jewel O’Neill, and Maizey Hardy. He leaves behind extended family, friends, and all who were lucky enough to know him.
Visitation will be held Monday June 23rd from 5-7 PM at Newcomer Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held Tuesday June 24th at 11 AM in the funeral home. Final resting place is Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, contributions to support Matt’s wife Sarah and young children during this time of transition can be made at the service.
