Matthew Javar Marnez Fields

On Wednesday, December 3, 2025, Matthew Javar Marnez Fields received his wings. Matthew was born on June 24, 2004 in Harrisonburg, Virginia to loving parents Tameeka Harrison and Matthew Fields.
Matthew was one of six children with his parents. Matthew leaves behind his parents, Tameeka Harrison and Matthew Javar Fields and his stepfather, Stephen A. Watts. He was departed by one grandmother, Helen M. Harrison and one grandfather, Matthew Jay Barber, Jr. Matthew is also survived by one grandmother, Vanessa Jean Fields-Harris and step-grandfather, Kenneth Harris; one grandfather, Reginald Harrison. Matthew is also survived by four sisters, Diamond Harrison, Ashley Nance, Ka'yana Brown, Zenith Washington and Brooklyn Simmers and seven brothers, Ta'yon Fields, Makeik Jackson, Sa'Vion Fields, Tra'Vion Fields, Na'Lius Fields, Racquel Prather and Gabrylla Prather. He is also survived by numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.
Matthew attended Wilson Memorial High School and was currently living in Staunton, where he worked as a CNA in the healthcare field. Matthew was very close to his parents and siblings, he was the nurturing one to the women in his family. You could always catch him dancing and laughing. Matthew could brighten every room he entered. Matthew's beautiful soul will be missed deeply.
A funeral service will be conducted at 2 p.m. on Saturday, December 20, 2025 at Kyger Funeral Home in Harrisonburg.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service, at the funeral home.
