Matthew Jarrett Massie, 54, formally of Abilene, born on March 26, 1970, in Temple, Texas, bid farewell to this world on August 3, 2024, surrounded by his loved ones in Belton, Texas.

Matthew was a skilled individual who dedicated his life to the art of small engine repair and landscaping. His hands possessed a unique talent for bringing life back to broken engines and transforming ordinary landscapes into breathtaking masterpieces. It was evident that Matthew had an innate connection with the outdoors; he thrived amongst the trees, flowers, and open skies.

Beyond his professional endeavors, Matthew's true passion lay in spending time outside, enveloping himself in the beauty of nature that brought him immense joy and peace. Whether it was working on a lawnmower engine or nurturing a bed of roses, Matthew's dedication and love for what he did shone through in every task he undertook.

Despite facing a long illness towards the end of his journey on earth, Matthew's spirit remained unwavering. He tackled each day with courage and resilience, inspiring all those around him with his strength.

In mourning his departure, Matthew leaves behind a legacy that will forever be cherished. He is reunited in eternal peace with his parents, Patrick and Barbara Massie and his grandmother Ella Pitzer.
