Matthew Glen Matsel, 60, of Chandler, Indiana, formerly of Carmi, passed away on Monday, August 21, 2023, at Heart to Heart Hospice in Evansville, Indiana. He was born on June 21, 1963, in Carmi, Illinois, the son of Roy and Donna (Britton) Matsel. Matthew graduated from Carmi Community High School in 1981. He went on to complete his Bachelor's Degree in nursing. Matthew enjoyed photography. He loved spending time with family and friends.
Matthew is survived by his children, Cody (Ellen) Matsel of Evansville, IN, and Haleigh (Daniel) Stagner of Chandler, IN; grandchildren, Mark Stagner and Leo and Patrick Matsel; and a sister, Jill Matsel of Mt. Carmel, IL. He is preceded in death by his parents.
Funeral services for Matthew Matsel will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, August 26, 2023, at Campbell Funeral Home in Carmi. Family and friends may visit from 11:00 a.m. until time of service at Campbell Funeral Home in Carmi. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made in Matthew's memory to Heart to Heart Hospice Foundation at 7240 Chase Oaks Blvd. Plano, TX. 75025, and will also be accepted at Campbell Funeral Home in Carmi, who is in charge of arrangements
