Matthew Robert O'Brian At the age of 36, Matthew Robert O'Brian passed away peacefully in his sleep on November 12th, 2024, in Arvada, Colorado. Matt was born in Denver, Colorado, on August 17th, 1988. He was a two-time football champion at Holy Family High School and graduated from Colorado State University in 2012 with degrees in Landscape Design and Landscape Contracting. During his college years, Matt also spent a semester studying abroad in New Zealand, an experience he always cherished.
Matt was known for his warm heart and infectious sense of humor. He was always the first to greet those he loved with a big bear hug and a joke. He impacted everyone he met with his positivity, kindness, respect, and loyalty. A passionate Broncos fan, Matt also enjoyed fly fishing and golf. Some of his fondest memories were playing and coaching rugby with his brother, father, and the Tigers Rugby Brotherhood. Matt deeply valued the lifelong friendships he formed, as well as the newer ones, all of which were filled with mutual love and respect.
He is survived by his loving parents, Paul and Caryn O'Brian; his faithful siblings, Michael O'Brian, his wife Maggi O’Brian and Molly O'Brian, her partner Philip Silva; his beloved niece and nephew, Sloan and Charlie O'Brian; and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins, all of whom he cherished dearly. Matt was preceded in death by his grandparents, Rita and James O'Brian, Robert Chiles, and Virginia Claire, his nephew Oliver O’Brian, and his uncle, Daniel O'Brian.
