Matthew was born on June 16, 1989, in Miami, Florida to parents Brenda Casady and Rick Pishalski. Matthew had a sister as well, Michele Schlossberg. Matthew grew up in Fairfax, Virginia and graduated South County High School, Fairfax Virginia in 2008. He did not marry or have any children.

Matthew was many things: a beloved son, a loyal brother, a caring uncle and friend, and the best dog dad anyone could imagine. His sudden departure has left an ache in the lives of all who knew him.

Born on June 16, 1989, Matthew brought light and laughter into the world from the very beginning. He was a lifelong gamer, always ready with a controller in hand and a smile on his face. Whether he was sharing a late-night raid with friends online or just exploring new worlds in solitude, he found joy and connection in the games he loved.

But beyond the screen, Matthew was deeply human-kind to strangers, generous without expecting anything in return, and always ready to FaceTime with his family. His acts of quiet kindness left lasting impressions, even on those he only met once. Matthew was a gentle and sensitive soul who never ended a conversation without telling his loved ones he loved them.

In recent years, Matthew faced profound loss with a strength that humbled those around him. After the passing of his mother-whom he loved deeply and who was the heart of his world-he carried his grief with quiet dignity. Though the pain was immense, he continued to show up for others, offering kindness, humor, and care even when he was hurting.

At home, Matthew shared an unbreakable bond with his dog, Bentley who was not just a pet but a constant companion, confidant, and source of unconditional love. His family meant everything to him, and he never let a day go by without making sure they knew it.

Though his time with us was far too short, the love he gave and the kindness he showed will ripple forward in the lives he touched.

Matthew is survived by his father, Rick Pishalski, sister and Brother-in-Law, Mark and Michele Schlossberg, niece, Stevie Schlossberg, aunts, uncles & cousins he loved dearly.

Matthew was pre-deceased by his mother, Brenda Casady, Bentley, his fur baby, grandparents, William and Julia Pishalski, grandparents, Veron and Joann Casady and cousins, Rory Casady and Brandon Miskol.
