Matthew Lucas Obituary

Matt was born in Norwalk, CT on September 16, 1961 to Nancie Gardiner and Robert Allen Lucas, passed away peacefully on November 17, 2024 at the age of 63. He attended schools in Westport, CT and Hanover, NH. Matt enjoyed motorcycles, downhill skiing, snowmobiling, dogs, the ocean, music and was a good friend to anyone he met. His social personality was full of clever humor and was hysterically funny. He had a joke or saying for pretty much any situation. Matt worked as a truck driver for several Durango construction companies. He was predeceased by his father Robert Allen Lucas and his mother Nancie Gardiner Lucas. And survived by his sister Sandra Lewis, brother Mark Lucas and little sister Kristin L. Dear and several nieces, nephews and cousins. There will be a celebration of Matt's life in Durango, CO, sometime in the future.

Oh Kristi, I´m so sad to hear this news. I hadn´t seen Matt in so many years and always hoped we´d have a chance again. Such is life. I will always remember us begging Mr Hunt to let us into typing class even though we were late. He locked us out and I still suck at typing. I won´t forget Matt and I´m thinking of you.

I'll never forget Matt's kindness and sense of humor. He was a good friend to me back in Hanover. Hoping I would be able to see Matt again at some point, I guess I'll just have to wait. Kristi, I send you so much love!

I remember Matt from Lyme Rd. in Hanover. He was usually flying by on a dirt bike, laughing the whole time. So sad to hear of his loss. Gone way too soon. He was a great guy. Kristi, I'm here if you need me.

Matt was my cousin on my Dad´s side of the family. He had a witty sense of humor and his jokes were full of satire. I hadn´t seen Matt in 25 years ago at my cousin Sandy´s house, when my daughter Kate was a newborn. He was as funny as he always was, and seemed to enjoy family. Matt, God Bless You, and give our loved one´s a hug! Be well!

You were a stepdad and then a friend, and I will miss your whacky sense of humor. I remember we used to share our own language when I was young, and during Christmas you would go out of your way to disguise presents so we couldn´t guess what they were. I´m going to miss you old fart. With love, Sicca
