Matthew Carlos Rodriguez, 39, of Manchester, passed away on Sunday, August 24, 2025, at his home.

Born in Hartford on January 16, 1986, Matt was the firstborn son of Cheryl and Carlos Rodriguez. He attended Enrico Fermi High School and graduated in 2004. Matt worked for the State of Connecticut for 19 years. He began as a Special Agent of the Blind and in 2021 he advanced to the position of Office Administrative Assistant in the Department of Aging and Disability Services. He enjoyed playing guitar, golfing, watching WWE, walking his dog/best friend Duke, and hanging out with his friends and family.

Matt is survived by his beloved wife, Jennifer of Manchester; his mother and stepfather, Cheryl and Carlos Rodriguez of Enfield; his biological father and stepmother, Carlos and Terry Rodriguez of Hartford; his brother, Evan Rodriguez and his wife Kristina of Windham; his sister, Angie Bresmer, her husband John, and their daughter Isabella of East Hartford; as well as many aunts, uncles and cousins.

Donations may be made to the American Heart Association, P.O. Box 840692, Dallas, TX 75284-0692 or to Saint James Church, 896 Main Street, Manchester, CT 06040.

Matt's wife and his family extend their love and gratitude to all the friends and families who have shown their love and support during this difficult time.

Matt was a quiet, private man, but also had a witty sense of humor that made his friends and family either laugh or shake their heads. From the first connections between Matt and his wife, both knew their hearts had found the special lifetime of love that would intertwine their hearts and souls and enrich them both as it matured and blossomed in the joy of their married years. Matt was his wife's unlimited source of strength and protection, providing for her as her protector, her best friend, and her loving partner. Their world began with each other and was then filled with the love of their families and friends. His selfless giving extended to his brother and "tag-team partner" Evan and his wife Kristina; his sister Angie; his mother Cheryl and stepfather Carlos; his biological father Carlos and stepmother Terry; and to his close friends, Alonso Isea and fiancée Danielle, Jeremy Mullikin, and Jason LaCaresse.

Funeral Services will be held privately. Online condolences may be made at www.SheehanHilbornBreen.com

My heart is saddened to know of Matt's passing. As I read the email from our agency, I had no words. I would often see him enter the office in the morning and exit in the evening, when he was in Windsor. Matt was a very gentle and quiet soul. My prayers are with the entire family. May the love of family and memories of Matt continue to be in your hearts and thoughts, as they will provide strength to move forward, one day at a time. My deepest condolences.
