A loving husband, father,and papa, his family always came first. Matt enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren, especially taking them on many camping trips. A big part of his life was music. He enjoyed playing guitar and bass guitar and listening to his favorite bands; Black Sabbath, Savatage and Michael Schenker. Matt was a lifetime Dallas Cowboys fan.
Matt is survived by his wife, Charlene Spaulding; daughters, Jessica Spaulding and Jenna (Dave) Mohr; sister,Gloria Case; stepson, Sean (Alice) Day; 14 grandchildren:Madison, Aubree, Lucas, Kaiden, Braiden, Cierra, Kylee, Aleceia, Gracie, Tyler, Laney, Bentley, Liam, and Ben; 3 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his mother, Ruth Sroczynski; sister, Julie Spaulding; brother, James Spaulding;niece, Beth Spaulding; numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Monday, January 2, 2023 from 4:00 until 8:00 p.m. in the Urbanski's Bedford Funeral Chapel 8300 Lewis Ave Temperance, MI where the funeral service will be held on Tuesday, January 3, 2023 at 11:00 a.m.Burial will follow in Lake Township Cemetery, Walbridge, OH. Memorial donations may be made to Hospice of Northwest Ohio.
