Matthew Francis Tholey

Matthew Francis Tholey, "Matt" 45, of Malvern, passed away suddenly on Wednesday, September 3, 2025. He was the beloved husband of Amy Tholey (Gampico), with whom he shared 9 beautiful years of marriage with as well as two adoring step-children, Brian and Brigette Schreiner.

Matt is also survived by his beloved parents, Francis and Christina "Tina" Tholey (Marinelli), his sister and brother-in-law, Michelle and Ed Staeger, as well as his adoring nephews Christopher, Andrew and Michael.

Matt was an amazing friend, confidant and a rock for all who needed him. He could find humor in any situation and never failed to make people smile especially at their worst time. When Matt hugged you, he never let go first. In addition to being a wonderful man, he was a talented musician (drummer), concert goer, avid reader and a vinyl record collector. Despite all of his gifts that he bestowed on others, he will be most remembered for living in the moment and enjoying life to its fullest with his generosity and bright spirit.

In addition to the above, Matt is also survived by many loving aunts, uncles, cousins, close friends as well as his fur babies whom he loved like they were his flesh and blood.

A liturgy service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Monday, September 15, 2025 at the James J. Terry Funeral Home, 736 E. Lancaster Avenue, Downingtown. A visitation will be held prior with family and friends from 9:15-10:45 a.m.

Interment will be private with the family.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to MusicWorks of Havertown, PA which is a non-profit organization that teaches music to children with disabilities.
