Mattie Lou Jones was born on June 7, 1948, to Ola B. Woods and T.B George in Swainsboro, GA.
Mattie Jones could not attend school because she was traveling and working with her mother and would later become a stay-at-home mother to her kids and a cook.
In 1987 Mother Mattie dedicated her life to the Lord and became a member of the Seven Olives Evangelistic Pentecostal Church under the leadership of Pastors Flo & Jerry McKoy of Fort Pierce, FL. She was a good lovable, faithful member for over 20 years. She was a mother of the church, member of the Pastors Aid Committee, member of the Women's Called to Pray Outreach Ministry, encourager to the community and sadly since she has passed away, she is a member of the National Gun Violence Memorial.
Mattie Lou George was united in holy matrimony with Emmanuel Wells Jones in Stuart, FL. Their union was blessed with 11 children: Ola Jones, Carla Scales, Sammie Scales, Diane Jones, Joseph Jones and Larry Jones.
In her leisure time she enjoyed cooking, attending church, praying and most importantly spending time with her family. She was an avid watcher of Wheel of Fortune, Jeopardy, and Soap Operas.
She was employed by the Martin County School Board and Stuart Nursing Home and Restorative Care as a dietary cook for 14 years until she retired.
Mattie Lou Jones departed this life on Thursday, November 24, 2022. She was preceded in death by her parents, her sons; Ozzie McKenzie-George, Teaster Jones, Emmanuel Jones, Jr. and Shawn Jones, daughters: Michelle Jones and Carolyn Jones and great granddaughter Cailani Gallon.
