Mrs. Louise Leggett Stancill, 88, passed away on Saturday, January 13, 2024.
A graveside service will be held on Thursday at 2 PM in the Leggett Family Cemetery, near Bear Grass, NC.
A native of Martin County, Mrs. Stancill lived all of her adult life in Pitt County.
She was employed with Empire Brushes for more than 20 years. Mrs. Stancill enjoyed working in her yard, gardening, looking for shark teeth with her husband and helping other people.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Linwood Earl Stancill; brothers, John William Leggett, William Samuel Fulford, Eddie Ray Fulford and Jerry Leggett; sisters, Julie Hathaway and Willie Bullock and sons-in-law, Elmo Meeks and Charles Andrews.
Mrs. Stancill is survived by: daughters, Yvonne Meeks of Farmville, Charlene Andrews of Greenville and Sherry Walston and husband Robin of Tarboro; a sister, Jean Wallace of Jamesville, VA; 7 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends at the cemetery following the service.
Memorials can be made to Alzheimers North Carolina, Alzheimer's Association 2245 Stantonsburg Rd., # C, Greenville, NC 27834.
