Mattie Lou Sylvia Weathersby arrived June 6, 1944 to the parents of the late Sylvester and Laura Lee Lewis Weathersby.
At an early age she joined Mt. Salem Baptist Church. With the travel of her job, she was affiliated with many other churches. After returning home in 2004, she reunited with her first heart, Mt. Salem where she served faithfully until her death.
Miss Weathersby was preceded in death by her parents, Sylvester and Laura Weathersby; sister, Alice Faye WeathersbySteed (Ernest); her brother, Sylvester Weathersby, Jr.; and her niece, Chaunta Barner.
Mattie Lou Sylvia Weathersby leaves to cherish her memories; two sisters: Lorraine Barner of Byram, MS; and Sandra (Earnest) Harper of Braxton, MS; three exceptional cousins: Kenneth Weathersby, Laura Stewart and R. C. Brock; two remarkable friends: Jen Hamilton and Verdia Hodges; two Goddaughters: Ava Jones and Kadjah Hoaks; and a host of nieces, nephews, numerous cousins and friends that will greatly miss "Sylvia, Aunt-T and Mattie."
