Maureen (Corr) Almeida, 85, passed peacefully after a short illness on Saturday October 4, 2025. Born in Taunton, she was the daughter of John P. Corr and Marjorie (McClellan) Corr. She was a 1958 graduate of Taunton High School and went on to marry the love of her life, Richard Almeida. Maureen worked at St. Pierre's Pharmacy and for many years with Dr. Thaddeus Figlock. A communicant of St. Nicholas of Myra Church of North Dighton. She was an avid mahjong player for over 60 years with her lifelong friends. She loved reading and competing with her family in nightly jeopardy games. After retiring, she enjoyed vacations with her family and friends, playing dominoes and bowling. Maureen is survived by her daughter Laura (Almeida) O'Connell and her husband Daniel O'Connell of Taunton, her son John Almeida and his wife Jessica Almeida of Taunton, and Robert Almeida and his fiancée Amy Moitoza of Taunton. She was predeceased by her son Richard P. Almeida. She is also survived by her grandchildren Kelsey (OConnell) Leandro and her husband Marc, Molly (OConnell) Lane and her husband Blake and her great grandchildren Mackenzie OConnell, Lillianna Leandro, Sadie Lane and many nieces and nephews. Maureen is survived by her sister Jaqueline Loura, and predeceased by her sister Jennifer Moitoza. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Nicholas of Myra Church in North Dighton on Friday, October 10th at 11 am. Her burial will follow at St. Francis Cemetery in Taunton. Maureen's family would like to thank the generous and dedicated staff of Compassionate Care Hospice. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Compassionate Care Hospice 2 Lakeshore Center Suite 110 Bridgewater, Massachusetts 02324.
