Maureen Fallon, a devoted sister, aunt, friend, and passionate advocate for others, passed away on October 20, 2025 at the age of 75. Born in Brooklyn, NY, and raised on Long Island, she carried her New York spirit with her throughout her life - resilient, vibrant, and full of heart.
She began her professional life in banking, building a strong foundation for her future. Guided by compassion and a desire to make a meaningful difference, she later returned to school and earned her Master of Science in Occupational Therapy from New York University - an accomplishment she was deeply proud of. She went on to serve on the New York City Board of Education before continuing her calling at Southern Westchester Board of Cooperative Educational Services (BOCES) where she dedicated herself to helping special needs students until her retirement. Her colleagues and students remember her as a caring professional who offered patience, dignity, and hope to those she helped.
Beyond her career, she lived a life rooted in community and connection. She was a proud member of the Women's Club of White Plains and found spiritual belonging at St. Bartholomew's Episcopal Church, where her faith, friendships, and service flourished.
In February 2024, she began a courageous battle with breast cancer, which she recently learned she won. With determination and grace, she fought to regain her strength, and her loved ones were inspired by her resilience. In her last few months, she was beginning to reclaim her energy and her joy when life took a heartbreaking and unexpected turn.
Her greatest sources of happiness were her family, her friends, and her beloved cats, Bella and Leah. She was predeceased by her parents, Peggy and Jim Fallon, and by her brothers-in-law, Donald Holst and Bill Koehn. She is survived by her sisters, Liz Holst of Delaware, Peggy Fallon-Koehn of Colorado, and Mary Fallon-Cysner (Moshe) of New York, niece Jessica Cysner (Steph Podolski, "Stephaine") of Maine, and nephews Matthew Cysner of Utah, and Duncan and Maksim Koehn of Colorado. She will be remembered always for her warmth, her humor, her generosity, and the love she poured into every relationship.
Services will be held at St Bartholomew's Episcopal Church, 82 Prospect Street, White Plain, NY 10606 on Friday November 14, 2025, starting with a Visitation at 10:30 followed by a Memorial Service at 11:30. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made in her honor to The Women's Club of White Plains – Scholarship Fund. This can be mailed to 305 Ridgeway, White Plains, NY 10605
May her memory bring comfort, and may she rest in peace.
