Maureen Gilberto Obituary
She was born and raised in Hartford, where she began working at The Hartford Insurance Company, but her true passion for Duckpin Bowling earned her a National Champion title and an induction into the Hall of Fame. In 1964, Mo settled and raised her family, whom she cherished, supported, and dedicated her entire life to. She then began another career with her second family, Smyth Bus Co. (Mrs. G) for over 30 years, where she made lifelong friends. She was the ultimate cheerleader and was proud to be on the road with the teams and coaches. She also enjoyed her cats, her weekly breakfasts, Bunko games, the casino, craft fairs, long drives, sporting events (UConn), the family floral business, and a good laugh.
Maureen was predeceased by her parents, John and Catherine Walsh; and her sister, Kathleen LaCava. She is survived by four children, Gina, Gayle, Joe, and Maura; four grandchildren, Megan, Kallie, Summer, and Joshua; and two great-grandchildren, Theodore and Avery. She also leaves behind two brothers, John and Austin Walsh.
Mom was our dearest friend with her gentle kind soul and sweet sense of humor and will always and forever be in our hearts. She will be put to rest alongside her favorite person, "POP" at the convenience of the family.
