Maureen Golab, 67, of West Bloomfield, passed away on April 5, 2025. Maureen was wife to Michael, her devoted husband of 44 years, and a loving mother to Douglas (Kristin) and Maggie (Jenny). Maureen met Michael while working at the law firm, Milmet Vecchio.
She was born to John D. and Virginia (Hall) Lee on January 21, 1958. Maureen was noted for her quick wit, sense of humor, hospitality, and her utter devotion to her family, especially her beloved granddaughter, Kameran Golab. She will also be remembered for her love of music and "knowing all the words."
Her sisters and brother, Debbie O'Connor (Patrick), Regan Lee and John Lee deeply mourn her sudden passing. She will also be greatly missed by brother in-law, Rick Golab (Cyndie), sister-in law Terri Mirah (Alan), nieces and nephews and many wonderful friends.
Maureen was a banking executive, managing significant projects for Bank of America throughout the United States and in Great Britain and the Far East.
An accomplished hostess, Maureen was known for her culinary skills and welcoming smile. She was especially proficient at her favorite hobby gardening, including raising beautiful orchids. Her celebrations of life events and holidays were legendary.
Maureen and Michael shared many adventures while traveling through Europe. Her favorite was always Paris. They even celebrated her birthday in Ireland, attending a concert by Van Morrison, her favorite.
Maureen was a "water rat" and enjoyed spending time and entertaining family and friends, especially Kameran, in her pool. She treasured her time at her cottage on Hay Island in Gananoque, Ontario with her neighbors and best friends, Todd and Barb Pullaw. She also had constant companionship with her furry friends, particularly Gemma.
Maureen faced many health challenges in her life and met them bravely and head-on, including her final battle with leukemia.
Maureen could be hard as nails when negotiating life and soft as a lamb with those she loved. We are devastated by her loss. Many thanks to her thoughtful caregivers at Karmanos Cancer Center.
Funeral from Lynch & Sons Funeral Home, 340 North Pontiac Trail, Walled Lake (3 Blks. South of Maple Rd.) Thursday 10:30 AM. Friends may visit Wednesday 4-8 PM and Thursday 9:30 AM until time of service.
