Maureen C. Maslin, 90 of Farragut, TN, passed away peacefully on May 31, 2025.
She was predeceased by her husband of 69 years, Allyn H. Maslin. She was also predeceased by her parents, John and Mary Halton, and siblings John Halton, Jr, and Joseph Halton. She is survived by her children Allyn J. Maslin, Bryan (Jane) Maslin, Tamara (Darryl) Riegel, and Robert (Crystal Johnson) Maslin, six grandchildren, their spouses, and six great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her sister June Gerstner, sister-in-law Ann Van Bork, brother-in-law Richard (Norma) Maslin, as well as may cousins, nieces and nephews.
Born in Manchester, NY and raised in both Manchester and Shortsville, NY, Maureen attended Red Jacket Central School. Known as "Reenie" to her family and friends, she was very popular, active in theatre and cheerleading. In 1954, Maureen met Allyn Maslin of Waverly, NY. They married in 1955, and raised their family in Canadaigua, NY. She could often be seen riding her bike around Canandaigua, where she worked part-time in several Main Street retail stores. Loving travel, Maureen and Al took their young children on many trips around the US. Later, they enjoyed adventures with friends to Europe, Alaska, Hawaii, and the Caribbean, among others.
Following retirement in 1995, they moved to Farragut, TN in 2000 to be closer to daughter Tamara and her family. They of course became big Tennessee Vols fans, and Maureen loved her Lady Vols basketball games on TV. Maureen was a devout Christian, serving on the Rosary Altar Society and baking delicious treats for fundraising events at St. Mary's Church and school in Canandaigua. After moving to Tennessee, she and Al became members of Saint John Neumann congregation. Maureen, also known as "Mo" and "Memo" to her family, was an outgoing, generous, and loving friend, co-worker, wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother who will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
