Maureen Ann O’Connell (nee Brennan), passed away peacefully on Sunday, September 14, 2025 at the age of 84. Maureen is preceded in death by her beloved husband, Kenneth O’Connell, Sr., and sister, Patricia Benken. She is survived by children, Kathleen O’Connell, Kenneth O’Connell, Jr., Kelly Varacalli (Paul), Patrick O’Connell (Keri), Mary Dunlap (Jeff), Daniel O’Connell (Beth), Erin Wallace (David), as well as twelve grandchildren, Logan, Conor, Kailyn, Kyle, Daniel, Matthew, Colleen, Raegan, Audrey, Quinlan, Elyse, and Megyn, and four great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her loving sisters, Jane Kneipp and MaryKay Lustig.
A devoted Catholic, Maureen’s faith was the cornerstone of her life, guiding her through every challenge and blessing. She was known for her warm heart and her ability to make everyone feel like family-she truly never met a stranger. Her kindness, compassion and unwavering faith touched the lives of all who crossed her path. Maureen’s legacy of love, faith and generosity will live on in the hearts of all who were blessed to know her.
Vigil will be held on Friday, September19, 2025 at 10:00am at St. John the Evangelist, 9080 Cincinnati-Dayton Road, West Chester Twp., Ohio 45069 with funeral mass to follow at 11:00am. Celebration of life will be held following the Mass of Christian burial at deSha’s American Tavern located at 11320 Montgomery Rd, Cincinnati, OH 45249.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Our Daily Bread Ministries at Donate | Our Daily Bread Ministries in Maureen’s honor.
