Maureen Wilson Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Crowder Funeral Home - Dickinson on Mar. 13, 2024.
Maureen Gladys Wilson, 82, went home to Heaven on Saturday, March 9, 2024. Affectionately known as "MeMe" to her beloved family and friends, Maureen was born and raised in Galveston, Texas on June 23, 1941. She spent time in Bakersfield, California, as well as Huntsville, Texas City and La Marque, Texas, before settling in Kingwood, Texas with family.
MeMe initially worked as a social worker, and finished her career as a retail manager. She had a true gift with a needle and thread, crafting special occasion outfits, including hand-made wedding dresses, in her spare time. MeMe devoted her life to caring for her family and praising her Lord, and was instrumental in the raising of her nieces, nephews and great-nieces and nephews. She spent her retirement years attending televised masses, praying the rosary and the Divine Mercy, working puzzles and searching for Big Foot. Her family misses her, but rejoices that she is home with her Savior.
MeMe is preceded in death by her parents, John and Evelyn Wilson, brother John Wilson and wife Coy, and sister Irene Oakes and husband Glenn. She is survived by her brother William Wilson and wife Carolyn, nieces Raney Payne, Stephanie Ingle and husband David, Kimberly Davis and husband Jerry, and JoAnn Wilson; nephews Steven Oakes and wife Nettie, Derek Wilson and wife Dina, William Wilson, II and wife Elaine, and Shawn Oakes; great-nieces Morgan and Meredith Wilson, Jensen Castle, Clarissa and Holly Oakes, and Anorah and Marvel Wilson; and great-nephews Brandon and Dylan Ingle, Jerry Davis and Xander Wilson.
In her honor, there will be a rosary on Friday, March 22, 2024 at 9:00am at Crowder Funeral Home in Dickinson, Texas with visitation to follow from 9:30am to 10:30 am and a service at 10:30 am. Committal will follow the service at Mt. Olivet Catholic Cemetery.
