Maurice Russell Moore was born on September 23, 1961, in Norfolk, Virginia, to Henderson and Barbara Moore. He peacefully transitioned from this life on May 30, 2025, at MedStar Union Memorial Hospital in Baltimore, Maryland.
He attended Wicomico County Public Schools and graduated from Parkside High School in 1980. Although he did not follow a traditional career path, Maurice's true passion lay in the love he shared and the connections he nurtured. He possessed a remarkable ability to unite people in any space with his presence.
A passionate and skilled cook, Maurice brought joy to his family and friends with his delicious meals, often enjoyed during lively gatherings filled with laughter and storytelling. His humor and generosity will be profoundly missed and eternally cherished.
Maurice was a loving brother, nephew, uncle, and friend. Renowned for his kind heart, infectious smile, and steadfast loyalty, he left a lasting impact on everyone who had the privilege of knowing him.
He is survived by his siblings,; Henderson Moore "Pop" (Hope) of Salisbury, Maryland; Gail Turner of Salisbury, Maryland, LaBarbara Morgan (Mike) of Largo, Florida; Keith Moore Sr. (Monique) of Salisbury, Maryland; and Sharon Jackson (Henry) of Salisbury, Maryland. Additionally, he is survived by numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends who will keep his memory alive in their hearts.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his brother Clarence Basnight, and sister Marcella Moore.
